This policy explains what personal information the Andhra Pradesh Society of Nephrology (APSN) collects through this website, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
Information we collect
- Membership applications: name, gender, father's name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, postal addresses, qualifications, medical council registration details, place of work, proposer details, payment details, a photograph, and copies of supporting certificates.
- Member accounts: your login identifier (mobile number or email) and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Enquiries: the name, email, phone number and message you send through the contact form.
- Technical data: a session cookie needed to keep you signed in, and the IP address recorded when a password reset is requested.
How we use it
- To assess and process membership applications and verify payments.
- To maintain the official register of members of the Society.
- To operate member logins and the member area of this website.
- To contact you about Society matters, conferences, webinars and academic activities.
- To respond to enquiries you send us.
What is shown publicly
The public member directory on this website shows a member's name, membership number, area of expertise, place of work and city. Mobile numbers, email addresses, home addresses, dates of birth and uploaded documents are not shown publicly. They are visible only to the member concerned when signed in, and to authorised Society office bearers and administrators.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. Information may be shared with the Indian Society of Nephrology or conference organisers where this is necessary for membership or conference registration, and may be disclosed where the law requires it.
Keeping information secure
Access to member records is restricted to authorised administrators. Passwords are stored using one-way hashing. Uploaded certificates and payment proofs are kept for verification and are not published. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
How long we keep it
Membership records are retained for as long as you remain a member of the Society and afterwards as part of the Society's historical register. Contact-form enquiries and unsuccessful applications are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Cookies
This site uses a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in to the member area or admin panel. It is removed when you sign out or when your browser session ends. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your choices
You may ask us to correct or update your details at any time, ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to remove information that we are not required to keep. Members can also update their password from the My Account page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page.
